Airports Case Studies on Combating Illegal Wildlife Trade
The Airports Council International (ACI) World Best Practice Case Studies from Selected Airports: Combating Illegal Wildlife Trade has been produced by ACI as part of the USAID Reducing Opportunities for Unlawful Transport of Endangered Species (ROUTES) Partnership. This document provides insight into the types of actions that airports have taken, the motivations behind to take action, and the challenges faced in the process.
ACI has been working with its members to address wildlife trafficking and gathered information on how airports can take action in stopping this illicit trade. This report draws on the testimonies of the following airports:
Heathrow
Kenya Airport Authority
Royal Schiphol Group
